leery

Oh the excitement when a man clad head to toe in orange turned up to fix the street light WITH A CHERRY PICKER. Isaac was utterly entranced. I think the attention wasn’t ideal for the gent in question though - he got distracted by his young fan and whacked his head on the light on his way up.

Eve wasn’t thrilled that the light outside her window is now back on, we had enjoyed the extra darkness. I’m sure it’s safer for pedestrians though.

Back to school and all seems well. Both children trotted in really happily and Isaac got over their abandonment of him after a half hour shoutathon. I signed him up for preschool today too - he doesn’t start until September but it all seems very weird on the basis I think of him as an actual baby!

Gratefuls:

1. Antony making chicken satay;
2. Being alone with Isaac all day - I really feel we’ve missed out on that quiet preschool time. Even if he wasn’t initially on board, we had a fun day;
3. The big two running out of school joyfully - it was good to have missed each other a bit.
