Sanderlings in flight
This weekend I went to visit a friend in Fife, Scotland. This is one of a number of photos I took on a walk along the coast. These little guys, I'm told, are Sanderlings. The RSPB site tells me that they pass through the UK on their way to their Arctic breeding grounds. They're very speedy little creatures, and getting pictures of them was very tricky!
Some more pics from our coastal walk are here on Flickr. Turns out bright sunlinght/dark rocks are rather hard to take good pictures of- I'll have to figure out how to sort the metering next time!
