Quarantaine

The French translation of my book “Lockdown” comes out here on Friday and my publisher asked for a pic to use on social media.

Last week I had a two-hour session with a photographer from Libération for a three-page spread they did on me last Saturday. One of the pics he took, which wasn’t used, was of me standing half behind a darkened door. I tried to get a rights clearance for it so that The Scotsman could use it for a magazine piece they are doing on my new book, “The Night Gate”. Sadly I couldn’t acquire them in time, so set up a similar shot and took it myself. Then thought, why not adapt it for the French. Hold the book, and peer out from behind the door wearing a mask. The French title of the book is “Quarantaine” (quarantine) after all!
