..Cemetery.

Having dropped my son off for a car share (first day back since 3rd lockdown) visited Newark Cemetery for the first time with my boys.

The Cemetery as well as being the resting place for townsfolk also contains the Polish War Cemetery and was the historical burial place of General Sikorski (the wartime leader of Poland) whose body has now been returned to Poland, but whose memorial remains.

It contains the graves of 80 Commonwealth and 397 Polish airmen from the local airforce bases of the Second World War. Scattered around the cemetery are also 49 burials from the First World War.

The extra is taken from the other side of the tower in the main picture, plus an attractive gravestone from 1875.
