A few green leaves

These are hawthorn leaves, I think, and the first bit of greenery I have noticed this year. The reference which came spontaneously to mind took me a few minutes to connect with Barbara Pym. Her books which I haven’t read in a long time merge in my memory, there is possibly an anthropologist involved. I don’t have a copy any more.
Pollok Park is without traffic this weekend and there are various opinions about why this is the case. No absence of people though and it was good to catch up with P and M, and then C and M, twice. A photographer chap gave me some helpful hints on getting the best from an iPhone video using slow motion and condensing the result. I had a go and used the Grab Picture app quite successfully. Now I know what I’m doing I’ll have another bash tomorrow, today’s first effort is probably not worth the extra blip.
L and M sent us photos of the nursery which makes it look like Yosemite in the moonlight, complete with silver birch trunks, an alarmingly realistic bear, three constellations none of which I can identify, and an enlarged full moon with craters. Islay dog seems to like it.
