Spring?

Our afternoon walk was around the shore, it was very quiet, only a few gulls on the shoreline. Some of the black-headed gulls are developing their spring plumage, one of these has a full head of black feathers, the other has what looks like a black eye! There are usually lots of these gulls nesting at Castle Espie, and the noise is phenomenal! We're hoping that Castle Espie will be open again while the gulls are nesting, last year we were in lockdown so we missed the whole spectacle and sounds.
