Garden dramas

I had some logs to chop, luckily I have the amazing hydraulic log splitter. After a while I noticed a strange rustling sound...

Escaped chickens... little swines.

I rounded them up, put them all back and moved the things that I thought they might have climbed on to jump the fence.

Ten minutes later a few of them were back out. So H and I and caught them and clipped all their wings, ha that’ll teach them. Well apart from the two that still managed to escape. My current theory is that they squeezed under the gate, I can sort that tomorrow.

Next job was the drainpipes. The idiot who built our extension bodged one of them so it is a bit leaky and the outside of the wall is getting slightly damp. I’ve ordered some bits and will try and sort it tomorrow. ( like I need a project ).

Then I went for a quick bike ride. It’s getting dry and a few folks had said the Roman rd is now fine ( fine for an amateur like me ). So cycled up there, it was excellent, nice and dry and most of the vegetation has been cut back so it was easy to ride. Well it would have been if it hadn’t been full of walkers. Normally on the 3 mile stretch I ride I might see 2 or 3 walkers, today I think there were more than 50. Madness. Most of them were fine, I always thank them for getting out of the way ( it’s pretty wide and hardly a chore to not take up the whole width of the flipping path ), some however were tutting very loudly. Saddos.
