Exploring
After dropping off A and Django for their walk in the Pentlands, I took my bike and went Turfing, principally on a couple of old railways. As well as some lovely views on a day that turned out sunnier than expected, it took me randomly to some nice places - like the formal part of Dalkeith Country Park - some new places - like a village (Rosewell) that I've bypassed hundreds of times - and some places I wouldn't want to visit again - like the far end of Dalkeith Country Park!
Dalkeith Country Park is the former seat of the Duke of Buccleuch, and close to the grand house is the fabulous Montagu Bridge. It only carries a cart track, so it is clearly built "to be seen".
