New Growth

It's almost two years now since the moor was devastated by fire. I intended then to document its recovery but I took my eyes off the ball and within a few months it felt like it was already too late to record, the scars almost entirely covered by a new growth of bracken. The truth is though that the heather and bilberry have taken longer to take hold again and evidence of the damage is easy enough to find, especially on the steep sides of Backstone Beck, where the sun struggles to make much impact. Recovery here is much slower, but the heather is beginning to grow back, finally
