Ace-r

These are most likely the female flowers of the red acer, Acer Rubrum.  Always supposing I've done my research correctly, that is.  As always, if you have better ideas, please let me know.  Tree ID is something I don't know as well as I should.

And can I say, yet again, a big thank you to all of you for being so kind while my eye's been in dock.  Because although it still looks hideous it's actually feels almost normal today, which is ace!  So I'm calling the issue closed!
