Subterranean homesick blues

This is the site of a subterranean dwelling - I'll repeat that, a subterranean dwelling - that's being built close to where we live. It's in the (former) gardens of the (former) mansion visible in the background, now a block of luxurious apartments. I think it's called "garden-grabbing", or "greed", according to how generous you are.

The plans make it look very plush - for instance, it features a slide from the main bedroom into the - obviously - subterranean swimming pool. However, rumour has it that it will never be occupied by Mr & Mrs Mole and their family, but will be let by the freeholder on AirBnb and consequently become nothing more than a party pad for Hooray Henry's and their braying pals.

You therefore won't be surprised to learn that a lot of the apartments in the (former) mansion have been for sale or to let recently. The project started in 2020 and is expected to complete next year. Watch this space...
