Stella (or slow blip day)

A very lazy start to Saturday with just 2 children to deal with, especially as one is nearly a teenager! Bella asked if I could straighten her which is a fairly mammoth task. But first she had to wash it, then dry it...

We finally made it out of the house after lunch. Just a quick visit to the Cat Adoption place as they are having a craft weekend. It was very tiny but the crafts were superb quality (as long as you like cats) and reasonably priced.

We got home shortly after the others returned only to find Amber the chicken looking decidedly ill. She's been a bit off colour for a few weeks but she deteriorated very quickly this afternoon. We set her up in isolation but unfortunately when Lily checked her before tea, she was dead.

Much wailing followed, mostly entirely from Lily. The others are much more matter of fact about the chickens - they are a provider of food (eggs) more than pets. Certainly there is to be no grave digging and cross erecting more an empty feed sack in a black bag and into the bin! although Lily doesn't know that ;-)

Got the exhausted children to bed early so we could watch a film from our massive pile - The A Team was chosen as it requires no thought. Unfortunately I am too set in my ways to appreciate the new A Team and *may* have muttered about it being 'wrong' once or twice. Can you get the proper A Team on DVD?...
