Back to that new fruit and veg shop and this time they had something l recognised straight away from my childhood. Tree tomatoes - or tamarilloes as they are called now. An acquired taste, very tart, we used to have them stewed with sugar for breakfast although you can eat them raw which is what l did with this one after photoing it!
