American Bald Eagle

This young eagle was soaring above our neighborhood for quite a while this morning. S/he even waited while I went inside for my camera.  It's not the sharpest image because I was zoomed out into the digital range.  I try to avoid that, but it was just too far away and I wanted to get some detail.  Bald eagles don't reach their full adult plumage until they are about 5 years old.

I am grateful for a chance meeting with an old friend today.  We haven't seen each other for a few years because she had moved to another state.  Then she moved back here when we were already under lockdown last spring.  Since I will get my second vaccine in a week, we planned to get together for lunch in 3 weeks when I'll feel safe in a restaurant.  :-))
