wild daffodils
I found these wild daffodils in the woods near Jerry's hunt camp when I walked on Saturday so I had to pick them to bring home. No one was going to enjoy them in the middle of the woods. I also went back with the shovel and dug up three big clumps and the bulbs are now planted in my yard at various places. Hoping the buds that were on them will still bloom.
I think they work really well for a black and white photo. I set them on the dining table where they were backlit by the natural light coming in the window. The light from the kitchen window was just enough to lighten up the front side. Thanks to Isbi for hosting mono Monday.
After Jerry's PT I drove to the peach orchards that were not very far away to see if the blossoms have shown up. Only a few...I have put two photos in the extras. Last year at this time, the peach trees were full of blooms everywhere. We did not have any exceedingly cold weather so I am really thinking the rain we have had all winter has really affected our plants and trees. However, I also saw a Japanese magnolia tree in full bloom today near the PT facility. I guess it likes wet weather! Love those pink flowers...a photo in the extras of these blossoms also.
It is nice to see other colors of spring blooms beside the yellow of daffodils and dandelions. I discovered one little snowdrop bloom this morning. No other buds as far as I can tell.
Another warm day with the door and windows open even though it might rain.
