St Margaret of Antioch
Glorious early morning spaniel walk down to the river Ouse and along to the Culpeper local nature reserve. Named after the early 17th century herbalist Nicholas Culpeper who grew up in the village of Isfield. Across the river the church tower of St Margaret of Antioch is visible. It, or at least the base of it, was already 400 years old when Nicholas was a lad. Most of the village however moved further south - to meet the railway when it came - so the church now stands in splendid isolation (and the railway has gone).
