Busy Bees
My Mum brought the kids round for a visit today, since I won’t get to see them when they are back at school from next week.
They both loved the new decor; yellow is apparently Theo’s favourite colour and they both got over excited when I showed them how the sofas convert into beds. I think a summer night sleep over is on the cards and we will ‘camp out’ in the conservatory.
I’d got them a little balloon craft set to keep them occupied it worked for at least ten minutes. Theo chose the bees (because they’re yellow) and Theia wanted the butterflies because they’re pink. (I had 2 of each, just in case!).
They both decorated them beautifully, but Theia then decided she wanted to pull the wings off her butterfly......POP!
Never mind, she still had another one.
Not five minutes later and despite our stern warnings against it, she did exactly the same with the second balloon and all hell broke loose.
Theo bless him said ‘I guess I’ll have to pop mine now, it’s only fair’, but we said he didn’t have to do that at all. He very kindly offered Theia one of his bees, so all was calm again.
I miss not being able to see them.
Pre pandemic, my sister was is, always has been an arse, so it’s a very rare occasion when I get to see them for more than a couple of hours.
Normal parents would usually jump at the chance of sending their kids away to aunties house for the day/night/weekend, but I’ve never been allowed, as much as I’ve offered.
I love spending time with them even if they do spend the whole time asking after Uncle Mash, so hopefully once my leg is better, we might get lucky and be allowed a sleep over ;-)
