An Unexpected Visit with a Snail

My husband recently picked up a huge cauliflower at the grocery store, and on this morning, he cleaned it and packaged it for storage. In the process, he discovered a tiny snail. Can you believe it? An actual MOLLUSK!

I put the snail on a yellow post-it note to photograph it. The Crittergators thought it was defunct, but my husband breathed on it, and then it began to move! Two antennas came out, and the snail began to cruise around.

It headed for the redshirt, top right, who gave it some serious side-eye. Then it turned and headed for that green fellow in the lower right. Watch out! Itty bitty snail, set at ramming speed!

T. Tiger brought the snail some cauliflower leaves and a few florets, and after this photo shoot, we took the snail and put it in the butterfly garden with its provisions. Good luck in the garden, snail!
