Fading

Back blip

Bb's turn at housework upstairs today.  I only had the bathroom downstairs to do, but in the process managed to spill the bucket of water.  A few bad words might have been uttered.  We need to buy a new bucket to replace the new bucket bought only yesterday as this happened yesterday too.   I think it's a design fault and life's too short to cry over spilt water.

A short walk in the afternoon and a longer walk at night meant to my surprise that I had managed to do 17,000 steps.  I was pleased as that meant I'd reached my weekly 70,000...except I hadn't as I forgot to check the numbers exactly and I was 43 steps short!

Dinner was one of our favourites - chicken, apple and wine (should be cider but gave up looking for cider here a long time ago) casserole with new potatoes and broccoli. The recipe is from a Marks and Spencer family casserole book that Bb's mum gave to him before we got married. It's one of our favourites.

We talked today (again) about how we can organise our housework better so that it's less of a chore ;-)  We do the whole house (it's not that big) every two weeks at the weekend and every other weekend do the bathrooms and just what's needed.  I usually do downstairs and Bb upstairs.  We both work from home and like things to be clean and tidy....although we have different tolerance levels....and I'm allergic to dust.  We used to have a cleaning lady but Covid put an end to that.  We're not prepared to start with a new cleaning person at the moment and doing it ourselves gives us exercise, but it's just such a thought when it comes around!  Lovely when we have almost nothing to do though :-) every second weekend, and when it's done.  A rota for different days? Moving it to a weekday when possible?  Doing less?  Moving to a smaller place?

My blip's a lazy one (with a filter) of the roses Bb gave me recently, which are fading but still beautiful.
