Frozen Sihlsee

A quick afternoon hike to somewhere new. I’ve been past Silhlsee many times, but haven’t done much hiking there. First, I walked right along the edge of the lake, it was quite low, so nice to walk there. Then I headed up to Freiherrenberg 1109m. A beautiful but slightly hazy view to Vrenelisgärteli. I followed a slightly icy track through the forest, then headed down the Einsiedler Kreuzweg Cross way). Einsiedeln is the home of the Swiss Catholic Church.
6km, 210m ascent and 1hr 45mins. A nice afternoon trip on the train.
