Budding

Everywhere the buds on the plants are developing, getting ready to leaf or flower. These leaf buds are those of an ornamental elder. It started off as a small cutting, given to us by the owners of a BnB near Christchurch where we stayed many years visiting J’s Mum. So it’s a plant with memories attached.

I spent quite a bit of time in the garden, tidying and mulching. But I didn’t finish - at the back some plants need taking out, some need moving, but first I need to look at last year’s photos to remind myself what is where. No point in mulching, things need moving first. That’s going to be a job for next week.
