A bit further

This is how Samedan golf course looks in winter. I got a bit further on the cross-country skies today before heading back to the familiar bench in La Punt to meet Malcolm for a picnic lunch. Yesterday's broccoli quiche went down a treat.
As we sat there enjoying the warmth of the sun a familiar face came along. We met Angela six years ago when we first arrived in the Engadine at the Monday night yoga class. Then we'd see each other sometimes in winter on the cross-country tracks. Last summer I bumped into her on the Alp above Chapella. Her husband had taken three months off work to look after 240 cows, a few horses, pigs, goats and chickens. With two very young children it was a now or never opportunity. It was so good they've applied to do it again this year before the kids are expected to be in school! We had a really good catch up.
