Buzzed by a Buzzard
A decent day today - warmer and dry, but not much in the way of blue skies. A drive into the hills was called for and we set off on a familiar route, stopping off for coffee and cake at a favourite tea room.
Then we decided to take a new route and found the most amazing road through the Angus Glens, which had something of interest in every twist and turn. A derelict castle, looking like something out of a fairy tale; a blown over barn smashed by a recent gale; rabbits, hares and partridges galore; a sheepdog herding a small flock; an Aston Martin DB9 done up to look like James Bond's car - I just kept snapping away and got all sorts of possible blips.
Then we saw this buzzard just sitting on a rock in front of us, but too far for my camera's zoom lens to pick up clearly. We crept down the road at about 2 mph, sure that it would fly away, but I managed to get close enough to get this shot and then it was off, soaring in to the sky and then turning back towards us and flying straight over us. If only I'd had the camera set on video!!
We can't wait to do it all again!
