Common Enchantments

Hunt camp pond

I drove The Man up to his hunt camp to give him a day out of the house...and me too! He was able to use the walker to go around the area outside his little man cave but I also moved a chair outside for him to sit while I took a walk. He could not get down to the pond as he wanted as it was downhill. The recent rain has made it really muddy with the red clay soil.

When I got back to the camp from my walk about half an hour later he had gotten the hammer, nails and a few scrap pieces of lumber to put up a railing along the steps as there was not one there at all. I did not say a word about him doing this but I wanted to!

So I held the boards in place for him while he hammered. The railing really helps him to get up the five steps with his new knee.

The knee replacement is going really well. He is only taking ibruprofin twice a day for pain. The swelling has decreased greatly but he is still using the ice device many hours. We changed his bandage yesterday and the incision is healing nicely. He has so many staples so I had to tell him how much it hurts to get staples pulled out! I am mean that way! (I remember almost passing out when the doc removed the staples after my broken ankle surgery..hurt worse than the broken ankle ever did!)

A good day for us both enjoying the warm sunshine and blue sky. Tomorrow it is supposed to be 80F (27C) with plenty of sunshine! We will find something to do outside!
