Eager Beaver
Mr M and I took a walk along the Tay today, from Scone racecourse to a bit past Stormontfield. We hadn't walked this route before and it was lovely, and quiet and so we could let Flo off the lead for a big chunk of it (although she did go into the river and nearly get swept away by the current which was a bit hair raising). The picture shows some of the evidence of beavers along the Tay ( a couple more in extras, one showing a tree they have felled.) Perth is the first city in the UK to have a resident population of beavers and you can see evidence of them in the city centre. I think the colonies formed from escapees from collections although I know that on the west coast they were deliberately reintroduced.
My other extra shows the toll for the old ferry crossing at Waulkmill.
