Langshan Chicks
The Langshan breed of poultry originated in China hundreds of years ago and has spread throughout the world. The first Langshans were brought to N.Z. by Chinese gold miners duting the 19th century gold rushes. They are big, placid, black birds with feathered legs and they lay large numbers of dark brown eggs. Unfortunately only three of the eleven eggs under a broody hen hatched and I'm hoping at least one chick is a female.
Extra. Looking across the neighbour's deer paddock early this morning.
