Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Life is a beech!

Friday again today, so I started the day with the National Galleries Friday Art Quiz. 9 out off 10 today so that was good. I'll put the link in the comments again as folk seemed to enjoy it last week.
I managed to re stake our anniversary standard rose this morning, although I killed the mallet in the process! Mind you the mallet was over 50 years old so didn't really owe us anything!
Ali came over this afternoon which was nice and we went out and walked the streets of Blackhall. 1.4 miles today so I think I can assume my knee is doing well, not tried running on it yet though.
I spotted this tree while we were walking, it's a beech and there are two of them in a garden nearby. I don't know whether they are a particular small variety, or whether the enclosed roots have had an effect. It seems to me though, although the shape is right, the height is not. They are very handsome though, one of my favourite types of tree. Not usually any good for climbing though as the branches tend to start too high up! See extra for a much simpler variety!
I'm so pleased I just had a message from Ali using the word albeit...... the word lives on!

Keep safe everybody, masks on!
