Flower Friday (Friday 26th February 2021)

The crocuses in the Woodland Garden are beginning to burst forth, as are the polyanthuses. The builders have done their best not to bury them under piles of building materials (in Extras). I tried a macro effect on these crocuses but had problems with the wall behind me that was too close to let me focus.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Johnny Clarke - Every day you're wondering (1974)
In 1974 and 1975, Rupie Edwards scored hits in the UK Singles Chart with Ire Feelings and Leggo Skanga. I heard Ire Feelings many times but did not then know that both were based on the same 'riddim', first used on Johnny Clarke's song, also known as Everyday Wondering. It was one of the reggae pieces used in Steve McQueen's Small Axe film anthology, where I finally heard the original song. It was also sampled on Bad Da by Gregory Isaacs (1975), Hillside Airstrip by Augustus Pablo (1974) and Buck Shot Dub by Rupie Edwards All Stars (1974).
