Friday's bike ride

It was such a lovely sunny morning so I went for a bike ride over to Lowther and through Askham, Knipe, Bampton Grange and Butterwick. I've found if you ring your bell to let people walking know you are behind them they jump in fright or think you're rude and are demanding to be past so I try to shout hello and politely shout out I'm just letting you know I'm behind you and stop my bike to give people a chance to move aside for me but then I get asked rudely if I have a bell and that I should use my bell... I can't win and I guess some people just don't like cyclist's. As a walker and a cyclist I'm considerate to both.
