My first academic conference

This afternoon I had my first academic conference. It was a pretty last minute thing (I was asked to do it last week), but I'm actually so happy with how it went. I presented a paper entitled "The most violently explosive public issue": Prohibition in the 1920s, it seemed to have gotten a pretty good reception, so I'm pretty happy right now.

Going out for a friend's birthday tonight, so it'll hopefully be a good night, there seems to be a bit of a split amongst my friendship group, but hopefully it'll all work out for the best.
