What did we do.....

What did we do....before Sudoku?

Well, I used to do (or attempt) the Guardian crossword, but even a cryptic crossword depends on some general knowledge. The sudoku and its various spin-offs are pure reasoning. One of the few good things to come out of the Covid lockdown is that the Times gives us an extra page of puzzles, Monday to Thursday.

I've just started on the regular sudoku, but my favourite is the 'Killer' variation. I love the 'Train Tracks' puzzle also. A pleasure to come, and the crossword is easier than the Guardian's. Usually.

Less of a pleasure was watching England at cricket this morning. I think I could make a better pitch on the unkempt lawn which comes with my flat. In the equally unkempt flowerbed (I'm not complaining - I like gardens like this, a bit on the wild side) today appeared the first open daffodil of 2021. Extra photo. My favourite flower, though this one is a bit of a miserable specimen.
