Enchanted woods
A bright sunny morning saw us heading up through the woods above Moor Edge towards the moor.
In the woods above Deepcliff is this group of rocks which I thought looked good in the dappled sun. I find thus wooded area quite enchanting.
We walked as far as the ‘yellow brick road’ and then took the higher path back towards the road which we crossed to enter into the St Ives Estate woods. The path across the Fairfax entrenchment was the wettest we experienced before taking another favourite path down to Coppice Pond.
This was the first place where we came across people in any number. We managed to get a table in the picnic area so had a takeaway coffee from The Ivy Kitchen.
The snowdrops are still at their best and returning to the village we passed a clump I haven’t seen before on the banking around the football pitch.
A lovely morning to be out and about.
