Strange......

..... the things that one finds abandoned in the woods. But it all made sense when, a few hundred yards further on I found N in the process of mending the deer fence between us and the neighbouring woodland. He had discovered that some of the posts had begun to deteriorate and needed replacing before the fence collapsed and we were invaded by a herd of deer!
