The dropped stitch

out of the ordinary

A rather odd-looking vehicle which I walked past this afternoon.

This morning's conference webinar was about modular house construction and included a guided tour of one of the massive buildings where house sections are constructed. They are fitted out completely, down to coat hooks, lights and smoke alarms, and then 'wrapped' ready for transportation. The trucks required to carry them to the house sites looked massive. They are just less than the width that has to have a police escort and must not exceed weight restrictions either.

The company specialises in working in remote and island locations. Travelling by ferry and negotiating narrow, single track roads must be something of a nightmare.
