Low tide
It was forecast as an overcast windy day but we didn't quite anticipate just how windy it would be on the estuary at Exmouth. I was out with a friend, for a walk with our cameras. We were there for low tide which was early this morning. Fortunately the sun managed to glimmer through the clouds briefly while the strong winds almost blew us over, but th added weight of our camera bags helped. We spent a little time wandering over the sand watching the small groups of dog walkers in their wellingtons finding a path along the middle of the sand. We had to walk back to the land to walk around the headland having only walking boots on. We took a few shots of boats and some of the modern flats in the marina before deciding it was too windy and grey to spend more time out. So I headed back home for a late morning coffee.
Its the AV group this evening so a busy day in all.
Meant to record that yesterday the Prime Minister gave a presentation of the path out of lockdown. Indicative dates for different stages of easing were given with the first easing being that all schools and colleges would go back in March. This is still controversial as some scientists and teachers argue that it should be a staged approach. Hopefully analysis of the number of cases during this period will enable steps to be taken if necessary. In the long term we are hoping that the vaccine roll out which is taking place very successfully will reduce the severity of the disease and reduce the virus R rate substantially.
