Cautious Optimism

A wet and dull start to the day, so I set about a few tasks around the house. By this afternoon, it had brightened up and as I went out into the garden to take this photo, it was so warm and pleasant, that I sat on the bench by the pond and enjoyed half an hour in the sunshine listening to the birds singing. I looked round at some of the tasks that needed doing, but it's only February, so it's a bit early yet - still a chance of freezing temperatures. These dwarf irises are now resplendent, and I just hope they last well, as they are a real tonic as I look out of the kitchen window. 
Cautious optimism too that the holiday we have booked for May will be able to go ahead
