"All want to do though is push it along and splash in puddles. And then when I get tired you'll have to carry both me and the scooter back to the car."

Unfortunately he didn't really articulate that so we had a really nice time and then I got to really test my collarbone out.
We did make progress later on as he let me pull him along as he stood on it. He'll be whizzing along before you know it.
