The Wait Is Over
The patient little spider that has been caring for her eggs for about three weeks was rewarded this morning when they hatched. She is still keeping watch. See the lower left-hand corner. The nest is on the other side of the leaf.
Today is the tenth anniversary of the most destructive of the big Christchurch earthquakes. A very moving memorial was observed for the 185 people who died. Even after ten years many people have psychological, as well as physical, scars. There are still people waiting for their insurance companies to settle their claims.
It was two weeks after the quake that I ventured into Christchurch. I wrote about the experience here.
