The chosen ones

All three girls liked the butterflies and the rainbow fabrics. As all the skirts need so little fabric I've decided to make them all one of each. Who knows, if they turn out well then I can choose a surprise fabric at a later date! I don't want to leave out my grandsons so I'm hoping to have a go at sweatshirts for them. If anyone has any good pattern recommendations I will look forward to receiving them. I have contemplated making hoodies but thought getting the hood size right might be difficult? They are 8 and 10 years old but hoping I might be able to find a pattern that will do for the girls as well. I'll have fun looking anyway.
Barry has recently made good, there was a lot of making good required, the large pantry in the kitchen. So today I rearranged and sorted its contents, an agreeable and rewarding job as I can now see what I have and have it all ready to hand. Maybe that will be tomorrow's blip!
It has been a lovely sunny day and the hens have made much of free roaming their patch. A little too much free roaming as two of them escaped onto the public footpath which runs the length of our garden. A footpath rarely used with stiles top and bottom which the hens could get over if they wanted but when I went out to retrieve them were doing nothing more than chatting to those left on the inside and obviously trying to get back in. I easily picked up one and put her back over the fence but the other is more flighty and just scuttled back and forth as I tried to gather her up! It's a very uneven and sloping path and she found it much easier to navigate than me! I had to leave her out there in the end until Barry returned and we could trap her between the two of us. Little madam!
I made a few more notes to add to the list of reasons for mum's move and sent them to both Charlotte and mum for tomorrow's meeting. Fingers crossed for a good result. Mum hadn't had a good night and I'm sure much of it is concern about the assessment tomorrow. Despite the lack of sleep she was chatty and not so breathless so all good signs.
Tomorrow is another day and hopefully a successful one!
