Electrics Or Archaeology?

Today I started a rewire job that was maybe a little overdue... bakelite switches, rubber cables, wood cased double pole ceramic fusebox and cast iron splitter (Blipped). This all dates back to around 1950!!!
By the end of the day all that lot was safely disconnected. They had definitely more than had their money's worth out of the old system.
