Heron with Canada geese
Slept in this morning, and was too late for the sunrise. Nevertheless, I went to the northern end of Snells Beach, as the Kuaka tend to stay there in the mornings. And yes, they were scattered along in the shallows as the tide approached its lowest ebb for the day. Each group seemed hypersensitive to movement.
From the sand bank I had seen the geese in the distance and although I knew they were too big for kuaka, nand the wrong shape for herons, it wasn’t until I saw a group off to the side that I identified them. My photo of them is the extra for today. They flew off when I was still quite a distance away. So I decided on a panorama setting for the main group.
