Welcome Home Boots

We drove out to the Ark in Cherryfield today to see what cats might be available for adoption. 

(side note #1 - it's not the actual Ark. It is an animal shelter called the Ark.)

(side note #2 - Sign on the way into town claims Cherryfield is the blueberry capital of the world. Not that you would guess from the name or anything. Just sayin'...)

On the way out my wife, who had set up the appointment, assured me we would most likely not be coming home with a cat today. She explained several reasons why this would be the case. I just nodded along and thought to myself "What is she thinking?"

So we walked in, they opened up the door to the cat room, and there literally right in the entranceway looking up at us with these sweet eyes was Boots, who immediately came over and started rubbing on us and acting all knowing and affectionate. Ha! We went through the motions for a few minutes but of course we were gonna walk out of there with that cat. Luckily we were able to do it all legitimately so it didn't turn into a desperate heist scene or anything.

So now she's home. She seems pretty content in her new digs, and we do too.
