Why Do I See Purple

I have seen these buildings dressed in purple from all over the city and from Bellingham Bay this past year when we have been out... Today it was an up close look and what is going on... It looks to me someone lost their view of the bay... I had actually did all my scuba diving study in the building on the corner 40 years ago...
