Darkling Beetle

A big black beetle, lying on its back and kicking its feet helplessly in the air, greeted me as I was on my way out of the garage early this morning.
I told it to "Hang on, I'll be right back" as I turned on my heel to go get my camera.
With a puff of my breath it was back on its feet.
I had my blip in the camera before it could scurry off...
Gosh, it's nice to see the early stirrings of spring.
