A Cornucopia of Catkins

Today is a significant family  birthday! This time last year we were able to celebrate together as we were on a visit to our Swedish family .Today we had to be content with facetime, however it was good to hang out for a while , enjoying online togetherness in a way that was beyond imagining when they first moved to Sweden in the early eighties.

Happy significant birthday dear Keibr, if we age as well as you we will be delighted, you have set a high bench mark for us to aspire to.

I wanted to take this photo yesterday when I spied the hazel catkins but a busy boy and a limping dog were enough of a handful . I returned this morning with the intent of capturing these delights that shiver so beautifully in the lightest of breezes. I also saw an elegant white Heron , normally we see Grey Heron by our river .
