Memories.
This picture came up on my Facebook page as a memory. Which got me reminiscing. As all I’ve done today is go to the dentist and had my broken tooth filled ( another visit scheduled for Tuesday for another tooth!) And walked to the grocers for some potatoes I thought I’d snap this and use it for today’s blip.
Hard to believe it’s 50 years this year since I joined the RAF. I always think this is such a strange picture, a girl in uniform, with a dog and a prize card from Crufts. But then that is why I was featured in the RAF news! This was my first, first at Crufts dog show back in 1975.
The dog was called Cracker, and he was completely mad, but in a good way, the biggest clown you could meet, we still laugh at some of his antics.
When I joined up I wanted to join as a dog handler, but back then all a female could be was a kennel maid. How times have changed. I didn’t take up that offer, was a bit pee’d off about it if the truth be told and went for another trade. I wonder where my life would have taken me if I’d gone down that route?
