Annoying But Handsome

Steller's Jays are beautiful creatures but they are noisy, aggressive and will steal peanuts right out from under another bird.  I'm always amazed when the crows are very cautious when going after a peanut and the jays whip right in and grab it.  The crows are bigger but there must be some sort of bird protocol that keeps them from overpowering the jays and taking the peanut.  I'm going to put that on the list of questions that need an answer.
