Pegging Out

There was a gap in the rain today ideal for drying the bedding.  My mother in law had a friend who had a saying  ‘ Don’t peg out between plot and pancake’ - very apt just now, as soon as pancake day was over the weather was suitable for ‘pegging out’.  I’ve thought of that phrase a lot when we’ve had good drying weather in November (after ‘plot’) and I’ve been hanging out a line of washing! She wouldn’t have approved!
