Oldway Mansion

I more or less cover the same ground in my daily walk from home so I have blipped most things of interest. This is another blip of Oldway Mansion. I walk through the grounds on most days on my way to the seafront and the coast path. This magnificent mansion, once the home of Isaac Merritt Singer, inventor and creator of the world’s biggest sewing machine company, is now council owned, mothballed and boarded. Volunteers maintain the gardens, and a community group have plans for its restoration. A fundraising cafe has been created inside, ready to open as soon as conditions allow. This is the back of the house. It is a sad sight.
