Spate....

snow melt increased the level and rate of the river. Considering the depth and length of time the snow has covered the ground for 55 days, it is amazing the river isn't much higher.
There was a dawn chorus this morning and sun all day. The snow has almost disappeared in just two days. Some tracks are still iced.
Goosanders and Goldeneye were pairing on the river and hedgerows full of Finches and Tits. Snowdrops and Daisies are already flowering!
